The Spirit is Moving: Preparing for the Journey Ahead
It's been a while, but I just had to speak up. I feel the Lord working in my life and certainly in our Church. As if you haven't noticed, services are filled with the Spirit, and the Church is growing. Folks are getting involved, praying for each other and the Church. Challenging times are coming, but God will guide us through it all. Now is the time to jump in and prepare ourselves and the Church for the journey. Praise God!
When we sense the Spirit moving, it is a reminder of God’s active presence among us. In moments like these, the Bible encourages us to trust in God's guidance. “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way” (Psalm 37:23). This reminds us that our path, both as individuals and as a church, is directed by God. Even in challenging times, we can be confident that we walk not alone but in the light of His wisdom and care.
God’s call for us to be involved in prayer and service reflects the unity of the body of Christ. “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others” (Romans 12:4-5). When we pray for one another and serve within the Church, we strengthen the body as a whole, becoming more prepared for the journey ahead.
In the face of upcoming challenges, we can rest in the assurance that God will guide us through. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul” (Psalm 23:1-3). Just as a shepherd cares for his flock, God will lead us into times of rest and renewal, even when the road is uncertain.
Now is the time to prepare ourselves spiritually for what is ahead. By drawing closer to God and supporting one another, we are laying the foundation for a stronger future, both individually and as a church. Let us continue to seek His face, knowing that He will provide for every need and guide us on this journey of faith.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your presence in our lives and in our church. As we prepare for the journey ahead, guide us, strengthen us, and unite us as one body. Help us trust in Your leading, even through the challenges. We praise You for Your faithfulness and provision, knowing that You will be with us every step of the way. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
The Right Start for a Victorious Day
I start this day with a declaration of thanks for all you provide and the wisdom to use it for your glory. Your presence in my life is always at hand. All I need to do is reach out and own it. My victories and learning experiences draw me closer to you.
As we begin our day with gratitude, we are reminded of the countless blessings that God has bestowed upon us. Each gift, whether big or small, is an opportunity to glorify Him. The Bible encourages us to recognize and use these blessings wisely:
"Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." (Colossians 3:17)
God's presence in our lives is a constant source of comfort and strength. We are never alone, for He is always near, ready to guide and support us. This assurance is beautifully captured in the scripture:
"The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth." (Psalm 145:18)
Our victories and learning experiences are part of our spiritual journey. They draw us closer to God, helping us grow in faith and understanding. We learn to trust Him more deeply through every trial and triumph:
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." (James 1:2-3)
As we reflect on these truths, let us commit our day to the Lord, seeking His wisdom and guidance in all that we do.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the countless blessings You have given us. Help us to use them wisely for Your glory. We are grateful for Your constant presence in our lives. Guide us and draw us closer to You through our victories and challenges. Fill us with Your wisdom and grace as we go through this day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Trusting His Path: A Memorial Day Devotional
On this Memorial Day, I find myself reflecting on friends lost and all those moments in my life that could have ended so differently. God had a plan for me then as he does now. I am thankful that he is with me as I do my best to fulfill his plan. He has a plan for you all too. Open your life to him and he will show you the way. Trust me, I can testify to a walk with God as opposed to a walk on your own. You don't want to take this journey on your own.
Reflecting on the past can be a deeply spiritual exercise, reminding us of God's faithfulness and presence in our lives. The Bible reassures us of His unwavering support and guidance.
"The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way." (Psalm 37:23)
This verse reminds us that God directs the paths of those who follow Him. Even when life seems uncertain, we can trust that His intentions are always for our good.
"But now, this is what the Lord says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: 'Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.'" (Isaiah 43:1)
This passage reassures us that we belong to God. When we open our lives to Him, we can experience His peace and direction.
"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 1:6)
This verse emphasizes that God is committed to completing the good work He has begun in us. Even in times of loss and reflection, we can find comfort in knowing that He is working for our benefit.
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." (John 14:27)
Jesus gives us His peace, reassuring us that we are never alone. Walking with Him means we can face the future with confidence.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, on this Memorial Day, we remember those we have lost and give thanks for the moments when Your hand has guided us. Help us to trust in Your plan and open our lives to Your leading. May we find comfort in Your presence and strength in Your promises. Guide our steps and fill us with Your peace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Held and Upheld: Experiencing God's Steadfast Support
I come to you, my Lord, in thanks for all you do. Along my journey, you have guided me and provided my every need. When I have strayed or fallen short, you have corrected my course. I turn to you for provision, healing, guidance and so much more. You are always there. I pray that my life will shine in testimony of your greatness. I praise you in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
Psalm 37:23-24 The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.
These verses reassure us that God is actively involved in our steps. He establishes our way and supports us when we stumble, ensuring that we are never wholly cast down.
John 16:13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.
This promise reminds us that God provides our physical needs and spiritual direction through the Holy Spirit. The Spirit leads us into deeper understanding and truth, shaping our decisions and insights.
1 John 3:1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!
And that is what we are! Reflecting on God's love and provision, this verse helps us recognize our identity and status as children of God—a profound truth that speaks to His continual presence and care in our lives.
Prayer: Dear Lord, we thank You for Your guidance and the countless ways You provide for us each day. Teach us to recognize Your hand in every part of our lives and help us to follow Your path faithfully. May our lives reflect Your love and greatness, drawing others to Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Witnessing Miracles: Sharing Our Stories of God's Grace
Everybody has a testimony whether they realize it or not. That moment when you found Jesus or received the Holy Ghost. My life was completely revamped when I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Now you might take that as a really bad thing and I will agree. Ya, you know there has to be more and you're right. After my 1st chemo treatment, the Lord spoke to my wife and told her "Dan isn't going to die from this cancer. It's a journey he'll have to go through". And go through it we did, with God by our side. The doctors will tell you they were amazed at how I responded and went through the treatment without all the pain and side effects. I found a relationship with the Lord during that time and my life has never been the same. Diane and my relationship, our home life, finances, and more have improved exponentially. Your testimony needs to be shared if for no other reason than to give thanks to God for what he has accomplished in your life. It will be an encouragement to others to share theirs or look to God to do a work in their life. I challenge you to speak your testimony for the benefit of our community. Thank you, Jesus Amen.
In this powerful testimony, we see the transformative work of God in a life touched by profound trial. The story of Dan reminds us of the Biblical truth in Psalm 34:19, “The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.” This verse beautifully parallels Dan's journey through cancer, highlighting how the Lord is faithful to rescue us from our deepest troubles.
Moreover, Dan's experience reflects 2 Corinthians 1:4, which tells us, “He comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” His story not only serves as a testament to God's healing and protection but also provides hope and encouragement for others facing their own battles.
This leads us into understanding the importance of sharing our testimonies. As believers, when we vocalize what God has done in our lives, we not only acknowledge His work but also encourage others to seek Him in their time of need, as suggested in Revelation 12:11: “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”
Prayer: Lord, we thank You for the powerful stories of Your intervention in our lives. Help us to share our testimonies with boldness and sincerity, that others might find hope and strength in You. May our stories not only reflect our gratitude but also serve as a guiding light to those in need of Your saving grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Morning Coffee and Conversations with God
Good morning Father God. My thoughts will be brief this morning. As my feet hit the floor and I pour my first cup of coffee I want to thank you for the provision and guidance you give me each day. A clear path to keep me from bumping into things as I take a few more steps on this walk toward eternal life with you. Oh, one more thing. An unspoken prayer that will stay between you and me. One of thankfulness and hope. Ok, let's do this in the precious name of Jesus Amen!
As we reflect on the simplicity of morning gratitude, it's important to recognize the profound blessings of God's provision and guidance. "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake." (Psalm 23:1-3). Here, we are reminded of the Lord as our shepherd who not only provides but also guides us through the pathways of life, making sure we are nurtured and on the right path.
The mention of an unspoken prayer, one of thankfulness and hope, echoes the intimate communication between us and God. "Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." (Psalm 139:23-24). This scripture encourages us to invite God into the deepest parts of our hearts, to understand our unspoken concerns, and guide us towards everlasting ways.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for this new day and for the simple yet profound joy of waking up with gratitude in our hearts. Teach us to appreciate Your daily provisions and guidance. Help us to trust in Your path, even when we cannot see all the steps. And in our unspoken prayers, we seek Your face, knowing You hear every silent plea and respond with infinite love. In Jesus' precious name, Amen.
The Blessings of Today: A Thankful Heart in a Troubled World
Look around your world or watch the news. The chaos and turmoil is frightening, right? Ok, now stop and take stock of all the blessings we constantly receive from our God. Mercy, healing, wisdom and many more. Without these gifts we would just be a part of all the mess. I think now, before we start to deal with the day, is a great time to thank him for walking through it all by our side. Thank you Lord for all you are and for guiding me through this maze toward an eternal life with you. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, Amen. Ok Lord, let's go. You take point.
In times of turmoil and chaos, it's natural to feel overwhelmed. However, Scripture reminds us of God's steadfast presence and guidance. Consider Psalm 46:1-2, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea." These verses reassure us that amidst the upheaval, God is a solid refuge and source of strength.
Moreover, in 2 Corinthians 12:9, "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'" This passage highlights the paradox of God's kingdom: in our weakness, His strength reaches perfection. This is a divine mystery that invites us to rely not on our abilities but on God's grace.
In reflection of our blessings, Psalm 103:2-5 tells us, "Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's." This Psalm beautifully catalogs the blessings and benefits we receive from the Lord, encouraging us to remember and give thanks for them daily.
Prayer: Lord, in a world that often feels overrun by chaos, help us to see Your hand in everything. Teach us to recognize Your blessings, especially when they are disguised as trials. Strengthen our faith so that we can stand firm, knowing that You are with us, leading the way. We thank You for Your mercy, Your healing, and Your wisdom. Guide us through this day and every day, as we aim to walk in Your footsteps towards the eternal life You've promised. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
The Fullness of Life: Serving God in Work and Retirement
Another day, another dollar. We spend most of our adult lives in careers that provide us with the provisions to raise families and live full lives. If we're fortunate, we find jobs that we enjoy. In this season of my life, I enjoy my retirement. The time I can spend with my wife, and my hobbies. When the opportunity to do God's work presents itself, the rewards are many. No matter how small the task, the effort feeds the soul. There is work to be done, and I pray Lord that you will continue to provide me with opportunities to be a part of your workforce.
In the rhythm of our daily lives, where work and responsibilities often dominate, it's easy to overlook the spiritual dimension of our labor, both in careers and in retirement. The Bible speaks to this, reminding us of the greater purpose behind our efforts.
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." - Colossians 3:23
This passage encourages us to see beyond the immediate tasks and challenges of our jobs. Whether we're deep in our career or enjoying retirement, our work has eternal significance when done in service to God.
"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." - Ephesians 2:10
God has prepared a path of good works for us, tailored to each season of our life. Retirement is not an end but a transition to new opportunities to serve and glorify God in ways we may not have anticipated.
Our journey through different phases of life, be it in the midst of a bustling career or the reflective years of retirement, is an invitation to participate in God's work. The joy found in serving, in giving of ourselves to others, is a testament to the abundant life Jesus spoke of.
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." - John 10:10
Jesus' promise of a full life encompasses all our days, urging us to find purpose and joy in every moment, especially in opportunities to do His work.
Prayer:
Lord, guide us to recognize and embrace the opportunities to serve you in every season of our lives. Help us to find joy and purpose in our work, whether we are in the midst of our careers or enjoying the freedom of retirement. May our efforts always reflect your love and glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Fellowship is Essential
Over the last few weeks, we have all seen and are excited for the future of our church. To fulfill this future we will need to work as a team with God. I believe one of the characteristics of this church is our fellowship. I have seen that through this period of change, we have come together in a strong and meaningful way. I believe that one of the strongest traits we share is our fellowship. We are the core that God is using to spread his word.
As we look to the future with excitement and anticipation, let us reflect on the importance of our fellowship and teamwork in God's plan. The Bible speaks to this in several passages that highlight the value of unity and collaborative spirit in fulfilling God's purposes.
"For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." - Matthew 18:20
This passage reminds us that Christ is present whenever we come together in His name. Our fellowship is not only about us but is sanctified by the presence of Jesus among us, making our communal efforts all the more powerful and directed by God's will.
"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace." - 1 Peter 4:10
In our fellowship, we recognize and celebrate the diverse gifts given to us by God. Working as a team means leveraging these gifts not for personal gain, but for the benefit of the community and to further God’s kingdom on Earth.
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." - Hebrews 10:24-25
This verse calls us to motivate each other towards acts of love and kindness. In times of change and beyond, our commitment to gathering together for worship and encouragement is crucial. Our unity and fellowship are testimonies of God's love and power at work within us.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for bringing us together in fellowship and unity. Help us to use our collective gifts in service of Your kingdom and to encourage one another in love and good deeds. May our fellowship be a beacon of Your love to the world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Trust in the Lord
Faith, it's a word we speak a lot yet sometimes find it hard to live by. Even as I lay these thoughts down I realize I need to do a better job at not running ahead of the Lord at times. When faced with a difficult task or decision my instinct is to take control. Results tell me that's not always the best course of action.
Think of a dozen or so decisions or rough tasks you've made or completed. How many of those went well when you set out on your own without allowing God to weigh in? Ya, I thought so. When will we learn? He has our backs always. Trust him, he will never let us down. Thank you Jesus for your guidance and wisdom!
Isaiah 41:10 reassures us, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." This is a powerful reminder that God is always with us, offering His strength and support, even when we face the most daunting tasks.
In reflecting on our own experiences, it becomes clear that when we step back and allow God to lead, our paths are smoother, and the outcomes are more aligned with His will. It's a lesson in humility, patience, and faith—understanding that our knowledge is limited, but God's wisdom is infinite.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your unending guidance and wisdom. Teach us to trust in You wholeheartedly, leaning not on our own understanding but on Your divine will. Help us to remember that You are with us in every decision and challenge, providing the strength and support we need to overcome. May we always seek Your direction and trust in Your plans for our lives. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Let God Shine Through You
Ever met a person who defies logic? Their life seems upside down. There is illness, financial problems, out of work or you name it. You think you couldn't live through that. Yet they always have a smile and are willing to help or speak a kind word. You guessed it, that's God in their lives. Be that person, let God shine through you!
In the face of adversity, it's easy to wonder how some people maintain their faith and joy. Yet, Scripture offers us insight into this mystery. Consider James 1:2-4, which says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." This passage encourages us to see our trials not as obstacles, but as opportunities for growth and deepening of our faith.
Furthermore, the presence of God in our lives transforms us. It's not by our strength that we endure, but by His. Philippians 4:13 reminds us, "I can do all this through him who gives me strength." When God shines through us, our perspective shifts. What was once insurmountable becomes manageable, not because the situation has changed, but because we have.
Being a light in this world doesn't mean we won't face darkness; it means we shine brighter because of it. Matthew 5:14-16 tells us, "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Our lives, lived in faith and joy despite our circumstances, can be a powerful testimony to the grace and glory of God.
Let us strive to be that person who, in the midst of turmoil, reflects the peace and love of God. It's not about denying the pain or the challenges but about choosing to let God's light shine through us in those moments. When others look at us, may they see not just our smiles, but the hope and strength that come from our Savior.
Be that person, let God shine through you!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, in the midst of our trials and tribulations, we ask for Your strength and grace to shine through us. Help us to remember that through every challenge, You are with us, transforming us to reflect Your love and light in this world. May our lives serve as beacons of hope and faith, guiding others to Your embrace. Teach us to embrace joy in adversity, knowing that our perseverance is building a stronger, more resilient faith. In Jesus' Name, we pray, Amen.
Evening Devotional: Seeking His Peace
When you can't seem to clear your mind of the day's concerns or tomorrow's tasks. When you feel there is so much more you need to do and a good night's sleep seems so far away. These are the times to seek his peace. Our God will shoulder that load. Your spirit will be refreshed and you'll wake in the morning with a full tank ready to face what's ahead. He is always with us and will never leave us confused if we just follow him. Remember the saying "follow your heart", the Lord is your heart.
Jesus tells us in Matthew 11:28-30, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Here, we are reminded of the beautiful exchange offered to us: our heavy loads for His lightness and ease.
Let us also remember, "The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." (Deuteronomy 31:8, NIV). In every challenge and moment of overthinking about tomorrow, we can rest assured that we are not navigating this life alone.
Embrace the truth that the Lord is indeed our heart, our guide, and the ultimate bearer of our burdens. By following Him, we find not only direction but also unmatched peace that fills us, renews our spirit, and prepares us to face whatever lies ahead with a heart full of faith.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
In the quiet of this evening, we come to You burdened and seeking rest. We lay down our worries, our plans, and our fears at Your feet, asking for Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard our hearts and minds. Thank You for the promise of Your presence, that You are always with us, leading and guiding us. Help us to follow You wholeheartedly, trusting that You are our heart and that in You, we will find the rest and renewal we so deeply crave. Refresh our spirits tonight, Lord, so that we may wake ready to serve and love as You have called us to. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
God never gives up on us!
As I get ready to take care of today's to-do list I'm reminded of something my Dad used to say. If we were born with the wisdom we gain with age we would have spent much less time chasing success. That is especially true with our relationship with the Lord. Like many, I have survived a lot of years of bad choices. I'm thankful that God didn't give up on me. Without his plan for each of us, where might we be? I'm excited that I have the opportunity to serve my Lord and Savior.
When we take a moment to look at our lives, Jeremiah 29:11 comforts us, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
This scripture encourages us to trust in God's plan for our lives, even when we cannot see the full picture. Our journey with the Lord is a testament to His enduring love and patience. Let us be grateful for the opportunity to serve our Lord and Savior, embracing the wisdom He imparts to us through our experiences and His word.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your endless grace and mercy. Thank You for not giving up on us, even when we stray from Your path. Help us to remember that Your plans for us are filled with hope and prosperity. Guide us in Your wisdom, that we may serve You faithfully all the days of our lives. May we always be mindful of Your compassion and love, cherishing the opportunity to grow closer to You. In Jesus' Name, we pray, Amen.
Evening Reflections: A Conversation with God
Was going to say good night Lord but can't sleep, too much running around in my head I guess. That's ok though, reminds me that I can reach you anytime day or night. You are always there to listen and calm my mind. At the end of a long and busy day, you put everything in perspective for me and let me know you have my back. No matter how light or heavy my load you take it on. Thanks, Lord, I feel better now. Good night.
Our minds often become crowded with the worries and tasks of the day, making it difficult to find peace and rest. Yet, in these moments, we are reminded of the comforting presence of the Lord, who is always ready to listen and offer His peace. The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
It is a profound comfort to know that God is always accessible, day or night. Psalm 121:3-4 assures us, "He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep." God's vigilance over our lives is constant, providing us with the assurance that we are never alone, especially during restless nights.
Furthermore, 1 Peter 5:7 encourages us, "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." This invitation to lay our burdens before God is a testament to His infinite love and care for us. No matter the weight we carry, He is willing to take it on and provide the relief we need.
In moments of restlessness and worry, let us remember to turn to God, who provides perspective, peace, and protection. His unwavering presence is our source of comfort and strength, reminding us that we are never burdened to carry our loads alone.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the comforting reminder that You are always with us, ready to listen and offer Your peace. In the quiet of this night, help us to cast all our anxieties on You, knowing that You care for us deeply. Grant us the peace that transcends all understanding and guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. As we rest in Your presence, reassure us of Your unfailing love and protection. In Jesus' name, Amen.
The Constant Presence of God
Pray! Yes, now. God walks by your side every step you take. He is with you 24/7. He is there for every decision you make, take his counsel. At home doing chores, shopping, in your car running errands, everywhere. A day in your life without prayer is a missed opportunity to draw closer to Him. We pray when we wake and when we go to bed, don't forget he is there always.
Our lives are filled with moments, big and small, that shape our journey through this world. But amidst the hustle and bustle, it's easy to forget the constant presence of God. He is not a distant figure, watching from afar; He is right here with us, in every moment, ready to guide and support us.
The Bible tells us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." (Philippians 4:6, NIV). This verse reminds us of the power and importance of praying continually and seeking God's presence in all aspects of our lives.
Moreover, Jesus assures us of this constant presence when He says, "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:20, NIV). What a comforting promise! Knowing that Jesus walks by our side can transform how we face each day, how we make decisions, and how we interact with those around us.
In the mundane tasks of life, like chores or running errands, it's easy to feel isolated or overwhelmed. Yet, these are the moments when prayer can turn the mundane into something spiritual and connect us more deeply with God. The Psalmist expressed a similar sentiment, "I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." (Psalm 121:1-2, NIV). Our help and companionship come from God, whether we're atop a mountain or in the valley of everyday life.
Let us remember to keep our hearts and minds open to the presence of God. To seek His counsel in every decision and to turn each moment into an opportunity to draw closer to Him through prayer.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your constant presence in our lives. Help us to remember that You are with us in every moment, ready to guide, support, and love us. Teach us to turn to You in prayer, not just in times of need, but as a continual expression of our faith and love. May we find comfort in Your promise to always be by our side. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Reflection as a Learning Tool
When looking back at the span of your life, I'm sure you will remember many times or events that formed who you are today. They may be wonderful memories or not so much. Like many of you, there have been things in my life like war, illness, car accidents, and the like that I'm surprised I survived. There have also been many wonderful things like my wife Diane, my Church, and more. Over this same time frame, I have learned one truth to hold on to. God has a plan for me. He has always had my six. No matter what, I trust in Him and know the result will be to fulfill this plan. God is good!
As we reflect on the journey of our lives, it's crucial to acknowledge the role of divine providence in shaping our paths. The Bible offers profound wisdom about the importance of trust in God's plan, even amidst trials and tribulations.
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." - Proverbs 3:5-6
This verse reminds us that, despite the challenges we face, God's intentions for us are always for our welfare, to provide us with hope and a future. It's a call to trust in His divine plan, even when the road ahead seems uncertain.
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." - Romans 8:28
This assurance from Paul to the Romans serves as a comforting reminder that God is actively working in all aspects of our lives, turning even our trials into testimonies of His faithfulness and love. Our experiences, both good and bad, are part of a larger narrative that He is weaving together for our good.
Reflection not only allows us to see the hand of God in our past but also strengthens our faith and trust in Him for our future. As we look back and recognize God's presence in every season of our lives, we can move forward with confidence, knowing that He is with us, guiding and protecting us every step of the way.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unfailing presence in our lives. As we reflect on our journey, we are grateful for both the challenges and the blessings, for we know they are part of Your divine plan for us. Help us to always remember Your promises and to trust in Your providence. Guide our steps and keep us in Your loving care. May we always find strength and hope in You, no matter the circumstances. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Sharing His Love
As I wake this morning I pause to thank my Lord and Savior for each and every day he gives me. My prayer today is to share his love with all those I meet. I remind myself that as his child I have a responsibility to share his word and minister to my community inviting them to seek his truth. His blessings are many and I give him all the praise and glory in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Starting the day with thankfulness and a commitment to sharing God's love is a profound way to live out our faith actively. The Bible speaks to this calling with clear guidance and encouragement.
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." - James 1:17
This verse reminds us that every new day is a gift from God, full of opportunities to experience His love and to share it with others.
"And he said to them, 'Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.'" - Mark 16:15
Jesus’ command to His disciples underscores our responsibility to spread His word and love throughout the world. Each interaction is a chance to minister and to invite others into a deeper understanding of His truth.
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." - Acts 1:8
This promise of the Holy Spirit equips us with the strength, wisdom, and courage to share God's message. We are empowered to be His witnesses, reflecting His love in our communities and beyond.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for the blessing of this new day. Please fill our hearts with gratitude and our actions with Your love. Guide us to share Your word boldly and compassionately with all we meet. Help us to remember our divine responsibility to be Your hands and feet in the world. May our lives glorify You and draw others to seek Your truth. We offer all praise and glory to You, in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
